This week on my blog I have chosen to put as my work of the week as my maths work. In maths we are converting grams into miligrams and then grams into kilograms and kilograms into tonnes. I am really good at adding decimals with non decimals and miligrams with kilograms.

We had to answer questions like:
convert 2kgs into g
convert 743g into kg

and there was about 20 of those questions.

I chose this piece of writing for my Work of the Week because I wrote it very descriptively and usedb heaps of verbs.

I  creapt into the room as if nobody can hear me. I slowly streched my arm out to the other side of the computer chair to pull the black leaver to make the blue cotton computer seat go upwards. So I pull the leaver and it goes slowly,then getting annoyed  I tugged it fast so it would go up faster. I made it go as high as it could so I could push off and it would spin. while that is spinning I pulled the leaver slowly,to make it turn in a anti -clockwise motion. The commentator yells out” And Garth Tander has won the race in a holden”. The volume startsto raise the T.V goes up voices go down. Mum waits for the results. The TV yells out”And the winner of the 2009 of bathurst is . . .

This week I have chosen my work of the week because my goal was to make the first second and last sentences rhyme and the other two sentances rhyme. We also had to have a rhyming pattern and it would go AABBA so all the A’s rhyme and all the B’s rhyme. I think I made that happen.

My WOW this week is on my speech because I think I wrote this one better than last years one because it is a much better topic.
Here is my speech:

Smoking, Smoking, Smoking the worst thing for your whole life. You could even get lung cancer and die tomorrow which causes your lungs to shrivel up and you will probably cough a lot and it would be harder to breathe.If you smoke inside the house you will probably notice that your clothes and furniture will start to smell like your smoke , But if you go outside the house your family’s clothes wont stink as much. The down side about smoking outside is that you could be in a perfect conversation and then you need a smoke so the person that you are talking to has to go outside with you and they could suffer from second hand smoking. so you don’t want to be in the middle of a conversation and need a smoke. In the summer you don’t want to be walking over to the bin every half an hour to put your smoke butt in the bin the bin so you would just use an ash tray so someone every day has to clean that as tray so it doesn’t stink, or you could just throw your butt on the lawn and cause pollution for the world or even sat your lawn on fire. Two things for pollution first things first, the butts don’t decompose they just sit on your lawn wait until your lawns get mowed and look disgusting. The second thing is that the cigarette smoke causes pollution just like cars, buses or even boats. Which fish think is food so the fish go and try and eat the butt but it gets stuck in the fishes throat and it dies, that’s the person who threw the butt in the ocean’s fault. Here’s some fact’s about smoking. go 7300 x 4 minutes =29200 minutes of smoking per year. Which is 12 days smoking continuously non-stop.I’m not telling you to not smoke I’m just telling you what could happen if you do smoke. So there’s a heads up on smoking. I hope you have a smoke free rest of your life. Thank you for listening to my speech on Smoking. I hope you learnt a lot.

Our focus was to Entertain the audience and pick an interesting topic so it doesn’t make them not interested.

My work of the week this week is on my moon project because we have to have our project in on Wednesday and Karina and I are up to starting presenting it and most of the class are up to finding their Information.

I don’t have a picture because I don’t know how to put it onto a post. ü

I think I will be putting it on my blog soon so you will have to keep checking for the post.

This week in maths we have been rounding numbers up to make it much easier to add larger numbers.In the past week we have gone through NCM and Figure It Out workbooks.

This week in maths we have been seeing if people are related by the colour of their hair or eyes.  We had to work in groups as well and I chose to work with Anna, Laura and Anita.

Other groups were doing:

• What types of movies people like?
• What are peoples favourite colours?

That would lead to another graph. Our teacher Mr C told us we had to make three graphs. ( Two of them are shown below. )

We compared Rooms 1 and 2’s results to see if they were the same. Once we had finished we found room 2’s most popular type of movie was ”adventure” .When we made a graph for Room 1’s first choice was ”Thriller/horror”. We decided to see if room 2 was the same because our group thought that it was possible the people in room 1 were copying off their friends and in room 2 we thought they may have been copying off their friends also.

So some of the results may not represent the true facts.

I have chosen this piece of writing to publish because I have used adjectives and verbs ( describing, doing ) words and as you can see I have highlighted them in RED.

I carefully printed the names on thirty invitations and placed them into envelope, I quickly put on my helmet, raced down to the post office, carefully put the envelopes into the box and raced home again. I was waiting and waiting for a reply. Two days go bye, I have thirty calls come in, and I couldn’t keep up with them they were just too fast for me. Mum and I were about to go shopping. Mum nudges me and eyes up dad’s wallet. I quickly slip my hand into dad’s wallet and grab a couple of twenty dollar bills. I tuck them into my pocket and jump into the car. I had done that so I could get some extra goodies for the party.

“Mum, can I get this many packets of chips and this many cans of coke. I frantically asked her.”

‘Ok, but that’s it.” Mum said angrily. We walk up to the checkout and it comes to a total of 500.01, mum is shocked.

“All that for a party. This is the only party you’re having for a whole year.” We travel home and set up for the big day and wait till eleven o’clock. The time at this point is 10:59.am, stare at the clock and watch it tick over and over again. The clock strikes eleven o’clock. The door is still shut no one is at my party.

“There probably late just wait ten minutes and see if anyone’s going to come” mum says to me. Quarter of an hour goes by and absolutely no one has turned up. I sit on the couch and cry. Mum starts to pack up the goodies. I cry for the rest of the day and eat my chocolate cake.

My handwriting is my best piece of work in the past two weeks because, I have made my letters sit on the line and made NO mistakes.Look how neat it is !!!! :)
